40Hr. Collection Development Librarian

Job Description Summary
The Collection Development Librarian is responsible for developing, managing, and evaluating a balanced Library collection through prudent acquisition of materials within the budget. Keeps abreast of Library users' changing demands and works with other librarians and staff in assessing Library's material needs. Collaborates with other staff members as needed and assists in creating a positive environment.
Critical Skills
  • Knowledge and experience in selection and collection management for all formats of materials
  • Knowledge and experience with Children’s materials (birth-5th grade), fiction and nonfiction, in all formats
  • Positive attitude and ability to work collaboratively with staff and vendors
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Willingness to embrace NPL values: innovation, service, excellence and adaptability
Work Schedule:*
Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm

* Work schedule may change
  • Annual Vacation Accrual: 2 weeks per year
  • Holidays: 7 days per year
  • Annual Sick Accrual: 12 days per year
