 Downloading Instruction for
Digital Books and Digital music

eAudioBooks - Overdrive | Netlibrary ; eBooks ;  eMusic
Necessary software

eAudiobooks & eMusic: OverDrive Media Console software and Windows Media Player
eBooks: Adobe Reader or Mobipocket Reader
Downloading OverDrive eAudiobooks
  • Download OverDrive Media Console software
  • Click on Tools > Windows Media Player Security Update
  • In NPL's Digital Book Catalog, Click Add to cart
  • Click Proceed to checkout. Enter library card no. & pin Click Confirm check out.
       OverDrive Media Console will open and show the locations for the download. Click OK
  •  You may download all or part of the eAudiobook
To play the eAudiobook:
  • Open OverDrive Media Console
  • Highlight the title; click Play
To transfer to an MP3 player:
  • Open OverDrive Media Console
  • Highlight the title
  • Click Transfer
To burn to a CD:
  • Open OverDrive Media Console
  • Highlight the title
  • Click Burn
  • Windows Media player will open
  • Click on Copy to CD or Device
  • The right window should show CD drive [D:]. Click on Copy

Downloading Recorded Books/Netlibrary eAudiobooks
  • Enter barcode and pin number at Remote Patron Authentication screen
  • Click on Create a free account
  • Enter information
  • After log-in, click on eAudiobooks
  • Find a book and click on Download this eAudiobook
  • Click on Check Out & Download CD Quality
  • If download doesn’t start automatically click on Download CD Quality
  • When Windows Media Player opens and the book has downloaded click on Copy to CD or Device
  • The right window should show CD drive [D:]. Click on Copy

Downloading OverDrive eBooks
  • Download Adobe Reader or Mobipocket Reader
  • In NPL's Digital Book Catalog, Click Add to cart
  • Click Proceed to checkout. Enter library card no. & pin. Click Confirm check out
  • Click on Download
  • The book will be downloaded
To access the eBook:
  • Select Adobe Reader
  • Click  File (Menu bar) > Digital Editions > My Digital Editions > Read
     
To return an eBook:
  • Select Adobe Reader
  • Click  File (Menu bar) > Digital Editions > My Digital Editions >
  • Click on timepiece in upper right corner of book cover
  • Click on Return to Lender

eBooks can only be downloaded to one computer!

  • Download OverDrive Media Console software
