Summary: This book is a vivid and realistic account of what happens to a family when a son is addicted to heroin. The family is not close so they struggle with relationships in addition to the horror of addiction.

Summary: A very sweet story about two sixty year olds who fall in love despite their feuding families. Great characters, funny dialogue. Easy, fast, fun read.

Summary: Fashion, friends, romance and murder. Great stuff here with 1940s fashion flashbacks, designer clothes and a lovable cast featuring the fashion editor of a Washington D.C. newspaper. Read - Enjoy!

Summary: A grand finale for the Kushiel's Scion series. This novel does not disappoint! The vast sweep of Carey's fantastic and epic storytelling comes alive at an arresting pace through the intimate examination of the love between Sidone and Imriel. Gorgeous! (Kushiel's Dart is the first title in the series.)

Summary: It is always a joy to read a book in which there are no murders, no descriptive sex and no unredeemable characters. Lots of troubles and solutions which most ordinary people understand.

Summary: An interesting book about the history of fires in Chicago. This book describes what has changed in fire safety and the dedication of all firefighters who put their lives on the line each time the alarm rings.


Title: Pink Ladies & Crimson Gents: portraits and legends of 50 roses
Author: Glentzer, Molly
Summary: I enjoyed this book which explains the names of fifty roses. This book is beautifully illustrated and describes why the roses are named after people like Rubens and Napoleon. The authors discuss how many years it takes to develop a new rose and provide book titles for further study.


Title: T is for Trespass
Author: Grafton, Sue
Summary: Grafton didn't disappoint again. This novel brings up relevant concerns about the care of our aging population and current events like identity theft, all in her typical thrilling style.


Title: The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time
Author: Haddon, Mark
Summary: Written from the point of view of a 15 year old boy with Asperger's Syndrome, this book shows the thinking process for one with this condition. A mystery is involved which unravels into a thoroughly compelling story.
